The loss of one or more teeth can have a devastating effect on someone’s quality of life. People may experience problems chewing and be unable eat food they once enjoyed. They may become self-conscious and lose confidence socially, not smiling and laughing. Missing teeth can even affect the way you speak.
Of course, there is the simple fact that for every tooth lost, there is one less tooth to bite on. Not only is chewing reduced but the remaining tooth must carry the extra load. Overloaded teeth can fracture and fail, and this may lead to the loss of more teeth in the future.
